A question that started from a simple observation — and grew into something real.
Younger Muslim women in the GTA have campus organisations, friend groups, and events built around them.
Their mamas bring something just as rich — wisdom, warmth, and stories that deserve to be shared across generations.
But there wasn't a space for both. A place where a 25-year-old and her mum both want to come — and both feel at home.
Aangan started from a simple question: what if there was a space where every generation could show up, be themselves, and build something real together?
Warm, informal, and built entirely around community. A space where a 25-year-old and her mama both want to come — and both feel at home.
آنگن (aangan) — the courtyard
The open space at the heart of a home where generations gather. Informal. Welcoming. Alive with conversation. That's what we're building.
Aangan isn't trying to be everything — just this one specific thing, done well. A gathering space that's genuinely warm, genuinely welcoming, and genuinely for everyone.
Inviting and personal. The kind of space where you walk in alone and leave feeling like you've known people for years.
Culturally specific without being exclusive. Grounded in our Pakistani and Muslim identity, open to all Muslim women.
Never skewing young or old. Speaking to mothers and daughters equally, because that's the whole point.
Come as you are. Dressed up or dressed down — we love both. Many of our events are the perfect reason to wear that outfit you've been saving.
A small group of Muslim women who saw a gap in the community — and decided to fill it themselves.
